Job description: We are seeking a seasoned Senior Estimator to lead estimating for heavy civil and site development projects. This role requires a technically strong estimator who delivers accurate, competitive bids, drives margin, and builds trusted relationships with owners, engineers, subcontractors and suppliers. You will own end-to-end estimate development for municipal, commercial and industrial sitework projects and support value engineering and project hand-off.

- Lead preparation of comprehensive cost estimates and bid packages for heavy civil/site development projects (site grading, roadwork, utilities, stormwater, earthwork).
- Review and analyze plans, specifications, geotechnical reports, and contract documents to define scope and risk.
- Perform detailed quantity take-offs and cost analysis for labor, materials, equipment and subcontract scopes.
- Solicit, evaluate and negotiate subcontractor and supplier bids to optimize cost and schedule.
- Maintain, update and refine historical cost databases, unit pricing, and estimating templates.
- Coordinate closely with project managers, engineers, construction teams and clients to clarify scope, assumptions and schedule constraints.
- Prepare clear, professional proposals, bid narratives and estimate summaries for internal and external stakeholders.
- Track bid results, evaluate estimating performance, and drive continuous improvement and value engineering opportunities.
- Monitor industry trends, local market conditions and pricing fluctuations to ensure competitive, realistic estimates.
- Mentor junior estimators and contribute to estimating process improvements and standards.
- 10+ years’ experience estimating heavy civil construction and site development (site grading, roads, underground utilities, stormwater systems).
- Proven success estimating municipal, commercial and industrial sitework projects.
- Strong proficiency with Agtek, Bluebeam, Microsoft Excel; familiarity with other estimating platforms and takeoff software a plus.
- Excellent ability to read and interpret civil drawings, site plans and geotechnical reports.
- Demonstrated accuracy, attention to detail and analytical problem-solving skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication; able to present estimates and assumptions to clients and leadership.
- Comfortable managing multiple bids and tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Degree or certificate in Construction Management, Civil Engineering or related field. (preferred)
- Experience with bonding, public procurement and CMAR/GC contracting. (preferred)
- Established network of subcontractors and suppliers in the region. (preferred)

- Conduct regular maintenance/repairs on heavy equipment, systems, and automotive vehicles.
- Assemble mechanical components according to specifications.
- Examine and oversee diagnostic tests to determine functionality problems.
- Design a plan of action for all maintenance tasks and upgrades.
- Maintain work logs, repairs, and maintenance records.
- Monitor inventory and order new parts when necessary.
- Offer consultation on maintenance and preventative procedures to machine and vehicle users.

- Strong experience with heavy equipment such as, light pick-up trucks, heavy-duty trucks, dump trucks, 18 wheelers, bulldozers, and excavators etc.
- Vocational or Trade School certification is preferred.
- Great knowledge of vehicle diagnostic equipment and mechanical systems.
